George and Smokey

George Aldridge is a natural horseman and a dedicated trainer. His innate ability to 'read' an animal and recognize the potential of each individual horse coupled with his honesty and uncompromising work ethic allow him to optimize the talents of the animals entrusted to him by his clients.

Over the years, horse and rider teams from the Aldridge training program have won futurities and competed successfully in events as diverse as western pleasure, horsemanship, western riding, hunter under saddle, equitation, and working hunter on the competitive AQHA circuit.

Once George started reining, however, he knew he had found his passion. Early on in his reining career Georges multidisciplinary background proved itself an advantage as his horses demonstrated balance and confidence in their maneuvers.

He has coached riders to championship buckle wins in youth, limited non pro, and rookie as well as taking youth riders to top ten placings at the QH congress. Besides wins at recent NRHA events, George was a top five finalist at the 2001 NRHA Florida Futurity, riding "Mighty Mouse" (APHA "Touch Of Trash") - a horse trained exclusively at Aldridge Farms & 2001 FRHA Limited Open Year End Champion with Hollywood Desperado.

As a somewhat new contender in the working cow horse arena, George again proved himself as he rode Mighty Mouse into top ten placings, was the leading Florida rider at the 2001 NRCHA Florida Futurity and ended up with a top five standing in the NRCHA Silver in Open Hackamore. Those who know George find his 'cow sense' to be of no surprise since the Aldridge family has been involved in cattle for generations. George used to love to 'go cuttin' with friends after training performance horses all day!

Proving himself again as a coach, George took his reining riders into the working cow pens where their hard work brought many year end championship wins in Non Pro Bridle, Limited Non Pro for both the NRCHA Silver and the FRCHA.

George brings a standard of excellence to the show pen, however, the focus at Aldridge Farms is on the development of understanding and balance between horse and rider - whether under the discerning eye of a judge or simply for the joy of the ride.
